LOOKING FOR ALASKA - JOHN GREEN
Looking For Alaska, written by John Green, is about a boy named Miles who goes to boarding school. When he arrives, he meets his roommate, The Colonel, and Alaska, the girl down the hall. Before Miles went to boarding school, he didn't have very many friends, he was very interdependent, but after meeting new friends, he becomes more open minded, fun, and he learns who he really is. Throughout the book, Miles starts to fall for Alaska. She is the kind of character that you never really understand. After a tragic accident, Miles and the Colonel learn that life is something to be treasured. That sometimes there are no answers, but life goes on. There are two major question asked in the book; "how will I ever get out of this labyrinth?", and "what is the great perhaps?". In some ways these questions remained unanswered. To answer these questions is extremely difficult, so Green lets you figure them out for yourself. Green simply opens up the question. Looking For Alaska, was not only inspiring, and entertaining, but it makes you think, makes you look at things in a different light. This book is one of the best books that i have read. I would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and question.
